How much can I save with an automated Sage 200 and WooCommerce integration?

Posted on January 24, 2023
I have a WooCommerce store and Sage 200 ERP and I am wondering how much could I save if I automated the integration between both systems

Are you unsure how much you can save when you adopt business automation for your Sage 200 ERP and WooCommerce store integration?

That is a key question that you should consider and find the answer to, before deciding to embark on your business automation for your WooCommerce and Sage 200 systems.

What questions should you find the answers to regarding automating WooCommerce and Sage 200 integration?

You should be able to answer these four questions:

  1. How long does it take you to process an order manually?
  2. How many orders do you process a day on average manually?
  3. How much do you pay per hour for a member of staff?
  4. How many members of staff process orders manually?

How long does it take you to process and order manually?

Until you know the answer to this question, it is difficult to calculate and determine exactly what automation savings you can potential have. On average it can take more than 10 minutes to process a WooCommerce order manually – depending on the size of the order and if the customer details, address details and contact details are already available in Sage 200 or not.

How many orders do you process a day on average manually?

Again, this is another key question to help you find out how much you can save with a WooCommerce Sage 200 automated order processing. Based on our experience, 30 daily orders is usually the average orders that small business process in a day. Of course, this varies from month-to-month, but if you average the daily orders you process in a year and the divide it by 365 days you should have your average daily orders value.

Formula calculation for average orders per day

Average daily orders = 10,950 orders in a year / 365 days – 30 daily orders *

How much do you pay per hour for a member of staff?

By adding the hourly rate that you pay for a member of staff to process orders manually it helps you quantify exactly how much it costs in overall terms – daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. We estimate that £10 is a good estimate for hourly rate paid for a member of staff.

How many members of staff process orders manually?

Finally, this question is also important, most businesses have on average just one member of staff dedicated to process and fulfil orders manually originated from WooCommerce to Sage 200. The issue is that if your business wants to grow or is already expanding one staff member may not be sufficient in the long term.

Ask yourself, what happens if instead of processing 30 orders a day on average we start to process 100 orders, can we cope with just one staff member? It is unlikely as 30 orders x 10 minutes = 5 hours per day 100 orders x 10 minutes = 16.30 hours which equates to 2 full-time team members dedicated to processing orders manually every single day of the week.
